Summary Babar Awan and Masood Chishti have refused to appear as witness in contempt of court case.
It has caused tremendously complicated situation for Aitzaz Ahsan who has filed documents in defence of the Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.It was said in the application moved in the Supreme Court that the Prime Minister is defending him in person. He is not authorized to call for any government official as witness.Aitzaz Ahsan has taken the stance that the summaries of NRO verdict issued on December 21, 2001 were in possession of the then Law Minister Babar Awan, Cabinet Secretary Nargis Sethi and Masood Chishti. Without these documents, the Prime Minister would not be able to defend him.But this stance has become a stumbling block for Aitzaz Ahsan as Babar Awan and Masood Chishti have refused to appear before the court as witness.
