Summary Election Commission has finalized list of candidates for Senate elections.
According to the final list issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Senate polls would be held on 43 seats.The number of candidates contesting on these seats include 8 candidates for 7 general seats in Punjab, 41 from Balochistan, 25 from Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa, 13 from Sindh and 11 candidates would contest on 4 Senate seats from FATA.According to Election Commission, 11 candidates have been elected unopposed on 11 out of 54 seats.According to the Election Commission, Raza Rabbani, Saeed Ghani, Dr Karim Khawaja, Mukhtar Dhamra, Tahir Mashhadi, Syed Mustafa Kamal, Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, and Ghaffar Qureshi are candidates for general seats of the Senate from Sindh.Pakistan Peoples’ party’s Dr Hafeez Sheikh and Muthidda Qaumi Movement’s Barrister Farogh Nasim declared successful unopposed on technocrats seats.On two women seats, Mudassir Sahar Kamran, Nasreen Jalil and Yasmin Farrukh will be the candidates, while Hari Ram and Phattu Mil will contest for minority seat.
