Summary CJP says that courts get bad name after criminals freed when police fail to submit chalans.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that the prisoner should not be suffered if there are any differences between the prosecutions and the police.He gave these remarks while heading a two-judge bench hearing a bail application of Ali Nawaz, involved in killing his wife advocate Shabnum Faryal at the SC Lahore Registry.IG Punjab told the court that chalans 2300 accused could not be presented in the courts. On this, the court ordered to provide detail of 2300 accused.The apex court has summoned the IG Punjab, Home Secretary and DIG Investigation and adjourned the hearing of the case till tomorrow (February 23).
