PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Prime Minister's Coordinator for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Affairs Ikhtiar Wali Khan has strongly criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), questioning the motives of those who staged protests on August 14, Pakistan’s Independence Day.
Speaking to media in Peshawar, Wali said protesters on the national day did not represent the country and were acting against Pakistan’s ideology and national identity.
He alleged that PTI supporters rejected the Two-Nation Theory and did not recognize the country’s martyrs.
Ikhtiar Wali accused PTI workers of damaging Jinnah House and setting Radio Pakistan on fire, further claiming that some PTI supporters considered their leader greater than Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said the PTI had “played as much as it wanted to” and that the nation should now be presented with the facts.

The PML-N leader also criticized governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, alleging that educational institutions were being neglected while individuals involved in forest cutting, theft and the drug trade had gained positions of influence.
He claimed some people had become wealthy through illegal activities and acquired businesses in Peshawar and Swat.
Wali also criticized PTI’s former claims of establishing a “State of Madinah,” saying Hajj and Umrah had become more expensive in their tenure.
He said the PML-N had saved the country from default and called on those who protested on August 14 to explain their agenda to the nation.
