NARAN (Web Desk) - Police have registered a case against four tourists who drove their vehicle into the Kunhar River in Naran to film a TikTok video, authorities confirmed.
The action follows an incident a few days ago in which the tourists' pickup vehicle was swept away by the river's strong current. A local rafting team responded swiftly and rescued all four occupants safely.
According to DSP Sadaqat Khan, the four friends, who belong to Sargodha, attempted to drive their Vigo pickup through the Kunhar River to record a TikTok video. During the attempt, the vehicle lost control and became trapped in the fast-flowing water.
Following the incident, police registered a case at Naran Police Station against the four men for violating Section 144. Legal proceedings have been initiated under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code for disobeying lawful orders issued by public authorities.
Police identified the accused as Sultan, Ali Usman, Mohsin Khan and Asif Ali. Authorities said legal action against them is underway.
Meanwhile, the district administration and police announced commendation certificates for members of the Naran rafting team, praising their professionalism and timely rescue operation that saved the tourists' lives.
