The mother of three detainees of Adiala Jail, Rohaifa, who had filed the petition in the Supreme Court regarding the release of prisoners, died of cardiac arrest on Tuesday.Tariq Asad, the counsel for Rohaifa, confirmed that she had died and would be buried in Kohat today (Wednesday) at 1:30pm.He said that she was shocked to see her two sons – Abdul Majid and Abdul Basit – in a miserable condition in the Supreme Court on Monday, and died on Tuesday.Tariq said that one of her three sons, Abdul Saboor, who was also in the custody of spy agencies, had already died on January 26.Due to her petition, the spymasters were compelled to produce the seven missing prisoners before the court on Monday.Emotional scenes were also witnessed in the Supreme Court on Monday when she had met her two sons after the court’s hearing.She hugged them and cried. While talking to reporters, she expressed concern over the physical condition of her two sons.Later, on the direction of the court, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary arranged a meeting between the prisoners and their relatives at the attorney general’s office. This was the last meeting of petitioner with her son.
