ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized historic, economic, and strategic importance of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Iran in Pakistan’s foreign policy.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassadors to Iran and GCC countries in Islamabad on Monday.

The prime minister directed the ambassadors to work proactively towards enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and people-to-people contacts.

During the meeting, the ambassadors briefed the prime minister on the current state of bilateral relations, emerging opportunities, and challenges in their respective countries.

Issues related to strengthening economic diplomacy, enhancing trade and investment ties, remittances, and the Pakistani diaspora were also discussed.
