Summary Islamabad High Court schedules May 7 hearing for PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi appeals in 190M-pound case, rejecting earlier requests to suspend their sentences
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has scheduled the hearing of central appeals against the sentences of PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the 190 million-pound case for May 7.
The court dismissed earlier requests to suspend the sentences, declaring them ineffective after the appeals were set for hearing.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice Sardar Sarfaraz Dogar and Justice Muhammad Asif heard the case.
Both the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi had requested the court to hear their plea for suspension of sentences before the main appeal, which the court rejected.
The petitions had been filed in March 2025.
In March, the Islamabad accountability court sentenced the PTI founder to 14 years in prison and a fine of 1 million rupees, while Bushra Bibi received seven years in prison and a fine of 500,000 rupees.
