Summary Lahore High Court set April 13 hearing on petition seeking Basant deaths and injuries details, as lawyer claims 17 deaths, over 100 injured, and lack of action report from authorities.

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court has fixed for hearing a petition seeking details of deaths and injuries during Basant.

Justice Malik Awais Khalid will hear the case on April 13 on a petition filed by Judicial Activism Panel.

Petitioner’s lawyer Azhar Siddique stated that 17 deaths occurred during Basant while more than 100 people were injured.

He questioned what action had been taken against those responsible, how many cases had been registered so far, and how many people had been punished, adding that details have not been provided.

It is worth mentioning that the court has already summoned the DIG Operations and Deputy Commissioner Lahore in their personal capacity.
