ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari congratulated the nation on the occasion of Constitution Day and described the 1973 Constitution as a milestone in the country’s history.

In his message, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the 1973 Constitution is a permanent covenant of national unity, democracy, and fundamental rights, which has provided the country with democratic spirit, federal balance, and a collective identity based on consensus.

He said that in difficult times or periods of progress, the Constitution always guides us and serves as a means to protect rights, define duties, and strengthen the federation.

The PPP chairman paid tribute to Zulfikar Ali Bhutto for giving the nation a consensus constitution, saying that his wise leadership and political vision united different voices and provided the country with its first agreed constitution, which remains the foundation of the democratic journey today.

He also paid tribute to Benazir Bhutto on Constitution Day and said that her courageous struggle for the restoration of the Constitution kept the flame of democracy alive during authoritarian eras.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that the spirit of the 1973 Constitution has been restored and strengthened through continuous democratic struggle, while the historic 18th Constitutional Amendment during the first tenure of Asif Ali Zardari restored parliamentary supremacy and constitutional balance.
