Summary MQM, PML-N and JUI have walked out of the Senate against POL price hike.

The senators from these parties demanded the government to withdraw the recent hike in petroleum prices that have pushed the diesel price past the mark of Rs 100.On point of order, during the Senate session, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Senator Ishaq Dar said that government is multiplying its revenue under the cover of rise in prices of Petroleum Oil and Lubricants (POL). Jamaat-e-Islami’s Khurshid Ahmed said that petrol bomb is tyranny against public and rise in petroleum product prices.Minister of Petroleum Dr Asim Hussain said that taking decision of rise in POL prices back is not impossible. Tahir Mashhadi, from Muthidda Qaumi Movement, infuriated over Petroleum Minister’s statement, on which MQM also walked out along with PML-N, JUI and JI.Earlier, Senator Ismail Buledi protested over the attitude of senators who do not bother senate session. Chairman Senate Farooq H Naek questioned the Petroleum Minister Dr Asim Hussain and Postal Minister Umar Gorgage over late coming in the session.
