Summary SC said that proceedings in the contempt of court will be stopped if presidents immunity proven.

A seven member bench headed by Justice Nasirul Mulk was hearing the NRO implementation case. During the course of proceedings‚ Aitzaz Ahsan counsel of the Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani‚ submitted before the bench that the Prime Minister sincerely believes that the President enjoys immunity. He maintained that the constitution gives complete immunity to the President in criminal cases both at home and abroad.He said the prime minister adheres to rules and regulations and on legal matters follows the advice of the Law Minister and Law Secretary.Aitzaz Ahsan said Prime Minister Gilani has full respect for the court and appeared before it without any reservations. The counsel prayed the court to dismiss the contempt of court notice against the Prime Minister.In his remarks‚ Justice Nasirul Mulk who is heading the bench said proceedings in the contempt of court also will be stopped if proven that the president enjoys immunity.The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing of contempt of court notice in NRO implementation case till Thursday.
