Austrian Chancellor praised PM Shehbaz Sharif's fluent German speech during Vienna meeting as both nations agreed to enhance trade, IT cooperation and deepen bilateral ties.
VIENNA (Web Desk) - Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker has shared a video of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif delivering remarks in German on his official Instagram account, praising the Pakistani leader’s impressive command of the language.
The Austrian Chancellor posted highlights from his meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, stating that the Prime Minister’s fluency in German genuinely surprised him. The gesture drew attention on social media, showcasing a cordial exchange between the two leaders.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif concluded his official visit to Austria and later arrived in the United Kingdom. At Luton Airport, he was received by Pakistan’s High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal along with diplomatic officials. PML-N UK President Ahsan Dar and Khurram Butt were also present to welcome the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister was accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi during the visit.
According to an official statement issued earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chancellor Christian Stocker in Vienna, where both sides agreed to further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Austria.
The leaders discussed expanding cooperation in trade, investment, and information technology, and agreed to finalize memoranda of understanding in various sectors at the earliest opportunity.
Regional and global developments also came under discussion, with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the role of the United Nations.

The Prime Minister and the Austrian Chancellor co-chaired a business forum aimed at enhancing partnerships between Pakistani and Austrian companies and extended an invitation to participate in the European Union-Pakistan Business Forum in Islamabad.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also invited the Austrian Chancellor to undertake an official visit to Pakistan.
