Standing Committee approves 20th Amend bill's draft

The committee’s meeting held under the chair of Begum Naseem Akhter and was attended by only seven out of its 17 members. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) members did not attend the meeting.The committee approved the draft of 20th Constitutional Amendment Bill after debate. The bill protects the by-elections held under the incomplete Election Commission.The bill will be sent to National Assembly and the Senate for approval.It is pertinent to mention here that the Supreme Court had given time to the government for amendment to protect the lawmakers who were elected till February 6.
