Summary Khurshid Shah said that Political orphans are making hue and cry over 20th amendment.
Talking to the media at a one-day Haj Workshop, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs said that the 20th amendment is related to regularisation of tenure of Election Commission. Provincial autonomy has been granted by the Constitution; it cannot be taken back by any institution, he added.He said that hue cry should not be made without having an understanding of the true spirit of law and the constitution.Replying to a query, he said that next annual budget would be moved in May 2012 while the strategy of election would be discussed after June.He said that new Election Commissioner would not be a disputed personality.”We want to hold general elections under a free Election Commission,“ he concluded.
