No single person responsible for PIC casualties: Dr Asim

Replying to a point of orders regarding death of about a hundred patients at Pakistan Institute of Cardiology in Lahore‚ Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr. Asim Hussain said that the incident has occurred due to wrong policies.He said that number of casualties caused by fake medicine may increase with the passage of time.Multinational companies are leaving the country after mishap, adding that opportunists are establishing pharmaceutical factories for their vested interests.He said a single person should not be held responsible for casualties in Lahore. Locally manufactured medicines are not suitable but doctors recommended these medicines just for their interests.Senator Haroom Akhtar Khan said that regulation of drugs is the responsibility of the federal government.Raza Rabbani said that the issue Drug Regulatory Authority would be resolved in the Council for Joint Interests. It is not reasonable to say that 18th Amendment is responsible for this tragedy occurred in Lahore.
