FIA gears up to arrest Ijaz, AGP says no such plan

According to reports, Federal Investigation Agency is making arrangements for arrest of Mansoor Ijaz on his arrival in Pakistan.The FIA has also prepared a draft of case against him in which his statement regarding toppling the current government.Earlier Akram Sheikh Advocate, counsel for Mansoor Ijaz, the main character of memogate scandal, said that federal government would be held responsible if Mansoor Ijaz did not come to Pakistan due to security issue.Mansoor Ijaz cannot come to Pakistan until assurance for his security was not given, Akram Sheikh said.Akram asked the Attorney General to respond to Ijaz’s security call so that his client could visit Pakistan.He also said that if security to Mansoor Ijaz was not ensured, it would be equal to contempt of Memo Commission.On the other hand, a report said that certain high-level officials of the interior ministry held a meeting with the Attorney General and decided that Mansoor Ijaz would be provided full security on arrival, and no case would be registered against him. Later, the AGP himself said that the government has no intention to arrest Mansoor Ijaz or file cases against him.
