Summary Intense cold grips upper areas of the country while first spell of snowfall has started in Quetta.

According to Met Office, new spell of rain and snowfall is expected to start today in mountain areas.Weather remained mostly cold and dry in most parts of the country during last 24 hours while intense cold grips Chitral and its adjacent areas.Dense fog engulfs canal areas of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa while normal life has been affected in Faisalabad due to cold weather.Cold and dry weather surrounds Sindh including Karachi while Met Office predicted rain in Karachi on Sunday.Minimum temperature recorded in different cities was: -15C in Kalam, -11C in Parachinar, Skardu and Astore, -10C in Gopis, -7C in Quetta, -6C in Gilgit, -4C in Murree and -1C in Islamabad.Moreover, first spell of snowfall has started in Quetta and other cities of the province including Ziarat where people thronged the roads to enjoy the weather. Snowfall has also been recorded in Kalat, Mangcar and some other areas of the province.According to met Office, current spell of snowfall will continue during next 12 hours.
