Summary Federal Information Minister says PPP rendered sacrifices for freedom of the judiciary.
Talking to media outside Supreme Court, Federal Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is appearing before court while keeping BB’s vision, respect and supremacy of the judiciary in mind.She said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has always and will always respect the judiciary.On the other hand, ANP Chief Asfandyar Wali while talking to media said that he is appearing in the court because his party is in coalition with the government.“In past I appeared in the court with Nawaz Sharif, and now I am here again” Asfandyar Wali said.He further said that suggestions given to friends cannot be declared publicly.Members accompanying Prime Minister in the court include Punjab Governor Latif Khosa, Federal Law Minister Maula Bakhsh Chandio, Trade Minister Amin Faheem, PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat, Sindh CM Qaim Ali Shah, CM Gilgit-Baltistan, PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira and others.Beleaguered Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani is appearing before the Supreme Court today to respond to a contempt notice issued to him on Monday on failing to reopen lingering corruption cases against President Asif Ali Zardari and other officials.PM Gilanis court appearance comes after weeks of political turbulence in Pakistan that has strained relations between the countrys civilian and military leaders.
