US denies meddling in Pakistans domestic affairs

Summary US State Department has said that US does not want to interfere in Pakistans domestic issues.

Talking to media, US State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said that the US had not barred Mansoor Ijaz from traveling to Pakistan to appear before the memo commission.According to sources, there were reports in the US media that Mansoor Ijaz had been asked to postpone his visit to Pakistan.Responding to a question regarding US-Taliban talks, Victoria said that they were on initial stage however, US wants peace in Afghanistan.The spokesperson further told she was unaware of any of the US Special Representative Marc Grossman’s meeting with Taliban during his upcoming visit to Afghanistan.The State Department Spokesperson added that the US would continue diplomatic efforts to attain its objectives.
