Summary Dismissal of former Defence Secretary has been challenged in Lahore High Court.
In a petition, advocate Azhar Siddique prayed to bar Cabinet Secretary Nargis Sethi from working as DefenceSecretary.Sacking of former Defence Secretary Naeem Lodhi is unconstitutional because government cannot take such action without issuing a show cause notice, petitioner added. He also termed government’s step as ‘malicious’.On Wednesday, Prime Minister Gilani removed recently appointed Defence Secretary, Lt Gen (retd) Naeem Khalid Lodhi, on charges of “gross misconduct and illegal action”.
