US backs democracy in Pakistan

Briefing the newsmen in Washington, State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said that though the United States is not playing any role in present political crisis in Pakistan but said her country will back civil democratic system in Pakistan.State Department spokeswoman said the tensions were a domestic issue of Pakistan. Its obviously an internal matter for Pakistan to settle, she said. The US continues to have broad contact with all aspects of Pakistani leadership, Nuland said.Meanwhile, the British High Commission has also backed democracy in Pakistan.
