Summary Chief Justice asked why not salaries and facilities of MPs elected in by-polls should be stopped.

The four-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the petition filed by ChairmanPTI Imran Khan regarding voters’ lists.The Chief Justice in his remarks said that President Zardari took oath from Justice Dogar, on which, we could object but we did not do so because we didn’t want anarchy in the country. . The chief justice maintained that something would has to be done without caring for the results now.He asked Attorney General to tell whether the holding of election without election commission is constitutional?Why not the salaries and facilities of the candidates elected without the formation of a election commission should be seized because all this is unconstitutional, the CJ inquired.The attorney general said that a bill has been prepared to give protection to candidates elected in by-elections which would be sent to cabinet for formal approval.The hearing of the case was adjourned till January 12.
