Prolonghed loadshedding as no oil to run plants

Sources in Water and Power Ministry said that Rs 70 billion was demanded from Finance Ministry and if this amount was not received, the supply of oil to power plants might be closed completely.According to sources, PSO has already stopped 50 percent oil supply to thermal power plants. After the cut, the power plants are being provided 18000 tonnes out of total 32000 tonnes of oil. Production of electricity has dropped to 7000MW whereas, the duration of loadshedding likely to exceed to 12 hours.Circular debt of PSO has reached to critical low of Rs 4 trillion, while WAPDA,HUBCO, KEPCO are defaulter of PSO of Rs 1.58 trillion.
