Summary PPP and MQM met to discuss proposal of new local government in Sindh after a delay of 2 weeks.
The meeting of core committees of Pakistan Peoples Party and Muthidda Qaumi Movement was held in Chief Minister House to finalize the draft of new local government system in Sindh. Both the parties discussed the proposals on new local government system.The meeting of core committee remained suspended for two weeks due to political situation of the country. Earlier, a number of consultation sessions have held and both the parties have exchanged their drafts.PPP sources claimed that some points of the draft have been agreed on and others are under consideration.PPP has also provided the copies of the draft of Sindh’s new local government system to allied parties including ANP, PML-F, PML-Q, PML-Likeminded, and NPP.Whereas, Muslim League (Functional) sources said that the consultation on local government system was being carried out only between PPP and MQM and they were just informed about the development in talks.
