Summary At long last Pakistan Railways restored its cargo operation on Thursday.

The cargo service has been restored after a delay of six long months. Four goods trains left Karachi station for Multan, Rawalpindi and Peshawar.The cargo operation was resumed at a ceremony presided over by DS Railways Aftab Memon.Memon said that the four trains’ engines have been repaired and expense have been paid by Karachi Railways. He said the trains would return to Karachi on a round trip in four days and fetch Rs 1 billion revenue. He said more trains would hit the track soon as engines are being repaired.
