Summary Shortage of oil and gas has caused loadshedding in both urban and rural areas as well.
According to the PEPCO, the supply of fuel has been decreased by PSO due to nonpayment. Now the PEPCO is being provided with 27,000 metric tons oil rather than 55,000 metric tons. Likewise, due to scarcity of gas, Sui Northern has suspended the provision of gas to four IPPs, causing electric shortfall by 2900 MW.It is worth mentioning that the situation would become more deplorable after desilting campaign started from December 26
