All institutions answerable to parliament: PPP core committee

The meeting of PPP core committee co-chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was held to look into current political developments at the Presidency.According to the president’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar, in two-hour long meeting, Prime Minister Gilani briefed the meeting about the present political situation in the country.Babar said the committee expressed full confidence in the leadership of the president and the prime minister.“Parliament is supreme and all state institutions are answerable to the parliament”, the committee vowed.The supremacy of the Parliament was emphasised during the meeting along with the fact that state institutions should work in accordance to and respect the constitution.
