Passport fee to be increased in January

According to a report of Dunya News, Rs 900 has been increased in ordinary passport fee while Rs 1000 has been increased in urgent fee. The normal fee in future would be Rs 3000 while the fee for urgent passport would be Rs 5000.Meanwhile, Rs 1000 has also been increased for the 72-page passport and Rs 2000 has been increased for urgent passport of same kind.From January 1, Rs 10000 would be charged for the 72-page urgent passport which currently is Rs Rs 4500 and urgent fee is Rs 9500.Moreover, the normal fee for 100-page passport has been increased from Rs 5000 to Rs 6000 and urgent passport fee has been increased from Rs 10000 to Rs 120000. The new passport fee would come into effect from January 1, 2012.
