Summary Election Commission has barred dual nationality holders from contesting elections.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has started implementing its decision. It has ordered its staff that they should get an affidavit from the potential candidates when they submit their nomination papers.The ECP said that the decision would be effective for the upcoming Senate elections as well. A number of MPs have dual nationality, which in one way means their stakes are more abroad than in Pakistan.PML-N leader Ch Nisar Ali Khan clarified a few months ago that only his family and children have American nationality.
