Summary Energy saver project has been collapsed causing loss of Rs 174 billion due to delay.
According to sources, Asian Development Bank and France have released loan worth Rs 6.98 billion.In 2010, tenders to purchase saver bulb were dropped costing Rs 82 per bulb, this amount increased to Rs 116 in 2011. Due to delay in the project, management had to spend Rs 340 million more than planned expenditures.If the project would be launched in time, 1000 MW electric power could be saved. As a whole, the national economy had to face loss of Rs 174 billion due to delay in launching of the project.
