Summary About 188 seats of women in different assemblies have been challenged in the Supreme Court.

The petitioner’s counsel Tariq Aziz Advocate moved a constitutional writ in the Supreme Court’ Lahore Registry according to which special seats for women is violation of article 226 of the Constitution, causing loss of Rs 3 billion to the national budget. The petitioner urged the court to declare specific women seats in assemblies unconstitutional and unlawful and issue a stay order in this regard.
