President Zardari’s spokesperson Farhatullah Babar has said the president would address the joint session after the Ashura.The president has directed his spokesperson to take necessary action to call the joint session. Babar said the president can address the joint session in accordance with the section 56-1 of the Constitution. He can also ask the MPs to make sure their presence, he added.The president has also urged the party workers to remain patient. The analyst believe the drive to involve the president in the memo scandal has necessitated this decision on the part of the president. The recent allegations by Mansoor Ijaz regarding the prior knowledge of May 2 attack may also have necessitated the decision to address the joint session.
