Thousands of students in Lahore and Multan took out rallies on Wednesday against NATO for its attack on Pakistani outposts in Mohamand Agency that killed 24 soldiers.Students of Punjab University marched in the campus, holding national flags and chanting slogans against the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation( Nato) and the United States. The protesters were also holding placards and banners inscribed with anti-US and Nato slogans such as down with Nato Shame on US.Thousands of male and female students took out rally which started from the Mass Communication Department. University staff and lecturers also participated in the rally, expressing solidarity with the armed forces.The protesters demanded of the government to pull out from the so-called war against terror that led to killing of more than 35,000 Pakistanis.Addressing the rally Vice Chancellor Punjab University Kamran Mujahid said the Nato raid was a big blow to countrys sovereignty and integrity. He said Nato apology would not be enough rather Pakistan should take practical steps to cope with the situation.Meanwhile hundreds students of various colleges staged a protest in Multan against a lethal NATO strike that left 28 Pakistani troops killed last Saturday.Students of different colleges gathered at Multans Kachehri Chowk and protested the NATO strikes on Pakistani military posts in Mohmand Agency.The protesters also offered ghaibana funeral prayers for the martyred soldiers. Chanting slogans against the US and NATO, protestors said they strongly condemn the unprovoked attacks and demand a probe into the raid.
