Summary The US has hailed the appointment of Sherry Rehman as ambassador of Pakistan to US.
US State Department spokesman Mark Toner said that the US appreciated services rendered by Hussain Ahmad Haqqani for consolidation of ties between the US and Pakistan.He said that he has not received any notification regarding resignation of Hussain Ahmad; however, the US has welcome pro-democratic politician Sherry Rehman as Pakistani ambassador to the US. He said that he would like to work with Sherry so that endeavours could be continued to strengthen ties between Pakistan and the US.
