Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdsus Ashiq Awan on Sunday said that no unconstitutional step can de-stabilize the democratically elected government.Talking to media Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdsus Ashiq Awan said that democratically elected government of the people of Pakistan, will complete its constitutional period and public meeting largely arranged with the help of government wherewithal is no threat to democracy and the parliament.She said PPP wanted to take the country forward by taking all stakeholders on board.The Minister said during the marathon public meeting, Mian Nawaz Sharif failed to present any pragmatic plan to solve the problems being faced by the masses.She regretted Mian Nawaz Sharif has criticized the President, elected by the two third majority. Whose agenda, she asked, Mian Nawaz Sharif was pursuing to remove the elected President.She said “Go Zardari Go” rally is a mean to derail the democratic system. She said government servant and resources have been used in the rally.The Minister said such a rally will not be able to derail the democratic set-up as it has been restored by rendering unmatched sacrifices by the people of the country.She said the Mian Nawaz Sharif has talked about performance of his governments prior to 1999 however, he did not mention the four years period of Punjab government which is dominated by dengue virus, injustice to students community, lawlessness, price hike and unemployment.She urged Mian Nawaz Sharif to come forward and sit with the government for devising a policy to solve the issues of masses.The Minister said DCO and commissioner have been asked to gather people in the meeting.The Minister for Information said the only good step taken by Mian Nawaz Sharif is that he did not invite Mian Shahbaz Sharif in the meeting.She said words used by Mian Shahbaz Sharif in meeting held in Lahore last month, were contrary to democratic norms.
