Nawaz is Taliban from within, says Musharraf

Addressing the ceremony of US think-tanks in Washington, the former military leader said that Nawaz Sharif is Taliban from within and many extremists in Punjab are his accomplices. He said that Pakistani Taliban carry out attacks in Afghanistan and also provides shelter to other Taliban.He said that 3,000 Pakistan Army men died during war against terror while Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) lost 350 personnel. He said the ISI thwarted may global terrorism plots. Musharraf said that Pakistan Army cannot have ties with Taliban.The former president said that India wants an anti-Pakistan Afghanistan which will never be acceptable to Islamabad. Musharraf said that abandoning Afghanistan in 1989 was a US mistake.To a question the former military ruler said that Nawaz Sharif’s return to power would be a disaster. Musharraf also challenged the PML-N leader for a dialogue; however, he said that Nawaz Sharif will never accept this challenge.
