Summary The Supreme Court rejected petition regarding contempt of court against Chairman OGRA Towqir Sadiq.
A three-member bench headed by JusticeMian Shakirullah Jan conducted hearing of the contempt of court case.The petition was moved by the Federal Government in which it was said that Chairman OGRA had not obeyed the High Court order regarding price of oil products.So the defendant should be tried in accordance with rule of law. However; the federal government did not pursue the case.Justice Mian Shakerullah Jan remarked that the Federal counsel Abid Hussain Minto had not pursued the petition regarding contempt of court and ultimately the petition was rejected.
