Summary CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that no one can harm democracy if judiciary is independent.
Speaking during a reception arranged by Lahore High Court Bar, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that people expectations have increased after the independence of judiciary.He said that judiciary is not interested in interfering in other government institutions’ working but it can intervene if such a situation arises. He said judiciary takes action when other institutions cross their limits.He was of the opinion that judicial policy was made to maintain supremacy of law and to provided justice to the masses.The problems can only be solved if political parties and other institutions perform duties while remaining in their limits.Chief Justice Lahore High Court and Lahore High Court Bar president Asghar Ali Gill also spoke on the occasion.
