NICL case: Court reserves decision on Moonis acquittal plea

Summary Sessions court has reserved the decision on the acquittal plea of Moonis Elahi in NICL scam.

A district and session court here on Saturday reserved for October 21 its order on the acquittal plea of Moonis Elahi, the main accused in National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scandal.The applicant, in his plea, requested the court that despite the fact that all the witnesses of case have reverted, he is being politically victimized, therefore he should be acquitted from the case.On the other hand, FIA lawyer told the court that there is clear evidence against Moonis Elahi and a list of witnesses has already been presented to the court, therefore acquittal plea should be terminated.It was also told to the court that one witness, who was summoned by the court, has gone abroad. The court has reserved the decision after hearing the arguments.
