Summary ECC is likely to approve import of 1.2 m tons of urea, and ban export of livestock.
The meeting of Economic Coordination Committee is being held under Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Sheikh. The meeting will discuss and decide on the import of 1.2 million tons urea. It will also mull over banning the export of livestock.The import of sugar will also come under discussion in the wake of destroyed sugarcane crop owning to recent floods. The meeting will also discuss banning the export of live stock as the prices meat in the country is increasing.The meeting is also expected to allow using gas to be imported from Iran for electricity sector.
