Summary The trains have once again started to halt on reported account of diesel shortage.
The rail authorities said that the Pakistan State Oil has suspended diesel supply to the Railways, prompting suspension of trains. However, the PSO denied the charge, saying the diesel supply has not been suspended.Railway authorities in Lahore told Dunya News that the Railways Chief Operating Officer has ordered limiting the train services to 36-mile runs until the supply of diesel gets normal. The engine sheds are left with fuel for less than 24 hours use, said the rail authorities. On the other hand, the rail employees and pensioners have not been paid despite a lapse of 10 days past their pay day. Things seem getting worst for the Railways as the Finance Ministry has rejected a summary demanding Rs 1.5 billion package for the Railways.
