Summary After RPPs, a new expensive wind power project has been prepared to produce 1 MW power in Rs 22b.

According to an application filed in Central Power Purchase Agency in NEPRA for Tariff determination, the proposed wind power project will cost Rs. 11 trillion. Experts say this is the world’s most expensive Wind Power project both in terms of capital cost and as well as unit production cost.The project has the capacity to produce 49.5 MW. The project will be installed in Thatha region of Sindh and the contract has been given to the Tenaga Generasi Company. The production tariff of project is Rs 13.32 per unit whereas the rate of production will be 33.9 % annually.
