Summary Lahore High Court has sought details of foreign assets of 15 politicians including President, PM.
In a petition filed in Lahore High Court, Barrister Iqbal Jafri, said that assets of key politicians are in foreign banks whereas country’s finances are running short. The shifting of Pakistan’s assets to the foreign banks caused the increase in unemployment, price-hike and poverty.Jafri said, in the petition, that assets of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Mian Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Shujaat Hussain, Pervez Elahi, Imran Khan, Ghanwa Bhutto and Bilawal Bhutto must be brought back into Pakistan.Chief Justice Lahore High Court Justice Ijaz Chaudhry has ordered to provide details of the assets within 15 days and ordered to submit affidavits.
