Summary PML-N and MQM exchanged barbs in National Assembly on issues of Ayesha Ahad Maliks arrest.
On the floor of the august house, members of both parties exchanged harsh words. MQM’s Farooq Sattar said that his party raised the issue of the daughter of the nation in the assembly. Mehtab Abbasi said that personal attacks should not be made in the assembly.On a point of objection, Farooq Sattar said that Ayesha Ahad claims to be the wife of Hamza Shahbaz, the son of Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif. He said that when she got bail in a fake case launched against her, another case under the Anti-Terrorism Act was initiated against her to keep her in detention. He also alleged that the lady was sent on 10-day remand without police making a request for it. Sattar also said Ayesha’s family members were being threatened.MQM MNA Asif Hussnain said that the PML-N was trampling on the values of respect and decency. He said Ayesha was being implicated on fake charges in order to defame the family.In order to avoid further ruckus, NA Speaker Fehmida Mirza turned off the microphone of Farooq Sattar.PML-N MNAs staged a protest against MQM members’ remarks. Sardar Mehtab Abbasi said that the house should run its business in a respectable manner and avoid indulging in slurs against anyone.Lahore High Court Division Bench headed by Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry Friday admitted bail for Ayesha Ahad Malik, the daughter of former MPA Ahad Malikl, in a case registered with Defence Women Police Station on the complaint of a Philippines lady for allegedly kidnapping her son Joseph for ransom on September 27.
