Summary Twelve to 20 hour loading shedding has forced people to take onto streets in the country.

Protesters blocked the motorway at Lilla Interchange, while due to traders strike, all markets remained closed in Faisalabad. In various other cities including Lahore protest rallies have been taken out. Police is using batten-charge, teargas and aerial firing to disperse the protesters.Lahore protesters blocked several roads, mainly The Mall. Traffic jams were seen across the length and bredth of the city of Lahore.The ruling PML-N walked out of the Punjab Assembly in what it said the federal governments deliberate act of power shortage.The shortfall has reached 7000 MW, resulting in up to 20-hour power cut. In Gujranwala protesters blocked the roads and pelted stones on various offices.Six GEPCO offices and a petrol station were set on fire in Gujranwala. In clashes, five people including a DSP and SHO were injured. GT Road was also blocked by protesters for several hours. Several areas of Gujranwala have been facing over 14-hour. In Gujrat protesters burnt Gepco office. On the call of traders’ bodies, there was a complete shutter down in Faisalabad. In Jhang PTI took out the procession in front of DCO’s office. A large number of people participated in it.In Multan too people expressed their anger and took onto streets. In Peshawar, power is restored for one hour after five hours of load shedding.Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA, and Sindh too have been facing prolonged loadshedding for up to 18 hours. Protests were also reported from parts of Sindh, including Karachi, where protesters blocked roads by burning tyres.
