Summary IRSA approved suspension of additional outflow of water from water reservoirs due to water shortage.
The shortage of water will lead to scale down power production by 1,500 megawatt.The Indus River System Authority advisory committee met under the chair of Rao Irshad which was attended by officials of irrigation department of all the four provinces, WAPDA and ministry of water and power.Irrigation department Sindh took the plea in the meeting that water shortfall was on rise in Karachi. Water should be supplied to Karachi from river Sindh otherwise peace of the city could be put at stake due to shortage of water, it cautioned.
