Summary Five more people including an MPA of the Pakistan Muslim League have died of dengue.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Education, MPA Chaudhry Mumtaz Ahmad Jajja, was critical for last many days due to dengue fever. He died on Thursday. Chaudhry Mumtaz Ahmad Jajja was brought from Bahawalpur to Jinnah Hospital Lahore due to dengue fever.On Thursday, Dr Javed Ikram of Jinnah Hospital announced that Chaudhry Mumtaz Ahmad Jajja has expired.PML-N MPA Jajja was kept in intensive care ward and his health was fast deteriorating for last many days.Other victims are Gulnaz Bibi, 50, who died at Ganga Ram Hospital, Mudassar, 28, General Hospital, and Saima Farooq, 30, Mayo Hospital.With the five deaths, the dengue death toll has reached 111 in Lahore while 120 in Punjab. The total number of new dengue cases has been 600 in Punjab, with over 500 in Lahore alone. Total 12,000 cases have so far been reported in Punjab, with over 11,000 in Lahore.
