Summary While memories of last Haj scam are still fresh, the government has put new curbs on airline choice.
In a notification, the government has restricted the choice of airline to fly to Saudi Arabia for Haj to three airlines. The three airlines to choose from are: Pakistan International Airline, Shaheen Airlines and Saudi Airlines.The decision is unprecedented as pilgrims have always been picking an airline of their choice to fly to the holy land for Haj.The last year Haj scam saw many Pakistani pilgrims facing enormous housing and travel difficulties owing to alleged corruption by the ministry and other Pakistani officials concerned.
