Summary The increase in demand, and decrease in electricity supply results in increased power cuts.
The power cuts are now stretched to 3 hours during the night. According to the Pepco sources, the demanded of electricity has gone up to 17174mw and owing to water outflows, lack of furnace oil and gas, the production has fallen to 11591mw.Lahore was subjected to unscheduled load shedding during the last night. Without any intimation from National Power Control Centre to the distribution companies, the supply from city grid stations was stopped to consumers.In urban areas the power cuts are stretched to 10 hours while in rural areas the load shedding continues for 12 hours.
